Dilip Singh Rana, now popularly known as the Great Khali, who hails from India, is making waves in World Wrestling Entertainment.
The Great Khali who won Mr. India title in 1995 and 1996 also happens to be an actor who appeared in the Hollywood film “The Longest Yard” released in 2005. Before joining the wrestling world, he was Punjab State Police Officer. Singh was born in Himachal Pradesh, India to Jwala Ram (father) and Tandi Devi (mother); he is one of seven siblings. Although his parents are of normal stature, his grandfather was well over 6 ft 6 inches. He is a rajput.
Debut and Feud with The Undertaker (2006)
On 2 January 2006, Singh became the first Indian professional wrestler to be signed to a contract by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE); he was assigned to their developmental federation, Deep South Wrestling, where he wrestled under his real name.
